Stadiums across Australia and New Zealand preparing to showcase the world’s best women’s football are installing this ground-breaking surface technology; a blend of locally grown natural grass and Sport Group’s German-made synthetic fibre. From the top, these pitches appear like natural grass, but below, a synthetic knitted grid base holds the surface together, giving the real turf room to breathe. This results in a ‘natural grass’-classified pitch that stays in optimum condition for longer and is 100% recyclable at the end of its lifespan.

A New Home for the Matildas
The most significant infrastructure accomplishment in the history of Australian football, The Home of The Matildas at La Trobe University.
This purpose-built facility, now being used as the Matildas’ training ground in the lead-up to the Women’s World Cup will grow the women’s game from the ground up, for players at all levels. The facility features two state-of-the-art HERO Hybrid Grass pitches which feature Sport Group fibre, and two FIFA Quality Pro synthetic turfs (with another to be constructed later this year).
